Japanese sustainability course pre-visit

A future sustainability education in Karlskrona hosted by Eco Pilots and partners was discussed 19-20th September

Students from the Doshisha University will hopefully be welcomed to Karlskrona next year in August for a unique opportunity to study sustainability!
Discussions includes a one-week high quality sustainability education in English (translated to Japanese) that combines lectures with workshops in an art of hosting inspired setting. The students will also during field trips learn about Swedish reference facilities regarding sustainable development.

Yurie Makihara previously from Tokyo has a Masters degree in Strategic Leadership towards Sustainability is appointed within Eco Pilots to plan for the future course, in co-creation with the well reputed University of Doshisha and the Blekinge institute of Technology (BTH), where high quality sustainability courses are conducted today along with several sustainability research programs.

The pre-visit in September was represented by Prof. Wada and Mr. Nishiyama from the Kyoto-based University of Doshisha. They had two fruitful days in Karlskrona while discussing the course, and  payed visits to reference facilities for sustainable development as plus-energy housing, KRAV-labelled milk production, renewable energy and electricity production, and eco-shopping/farming.
The next step is hopefulyy a course invitation this fall to the Doshisha students and then final acceptance during spring 2012. More information is to be found soon at Eco Pilots and probably Doshisha webpages.
